COOPER AVENUE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The construction project on Cooper Avenue in St Cloud was completed in mid-September. The construction project moved ahead according to schedule and had minimal impact on the offices. The ATS property can be entered/exited from three points, Cooper Avenue, 19th Avenue and the south alley. The redesigned four-lane road has limited parking at the St Cloud corporate offices. Because of this, we encourage drivers that are visiting in St Cloud to take advantage of the shuttle service provided by ATS. For ease of access to the building the entrance on the west side of the building remains open for driver and employee use. The Safety Department is continuing to conduct Monday morning driver orientation at the ATS West facility.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
On August 18, 2004 Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) of St. Cloud, Minnesota, announced the selection of the site for its new corporate offices. The headquarters building, which will house over 250 employees, will be located at a site near the I-94 and County Road 75 Interchange (near the St Cloud I-94 Business Park) in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The present expansion and redesign of Cooper Avenue initially prompted ATS to seek another location in the central Minnesota area for its corporate headquarters. In conjunction with the Cooper Avenue project and the associated move by ATS, the St. Cloud Housing and Redevelopment Authority has planned redevelopment of the current ATS property on Cooper Avenue North, into single family affordable housing.
According to Scott Fuller, Chief Financial Officer for ATS, “Selecting the site in St Cloud involved several months of searching, analysis, due diligence, creativity and compromise. Our primary considerations included a seamless business transition, time frame associated with the move, the safety of ATS employees and the motoring public, and overall employee and community impact. We reviewed many suitable sites. We believe this site best offers us the opportunity to meet both our short-term and long-term corporate and community goals. We are excited about moving into the next phases of planning and construction.”
At this time ATS is firming up their project timeline with a targeted completion date in late 2005.
